Mato Grosso & The Pantanal

Mato Grosso a state in the central-western region of Brazil. It incudes the amazon rainforest to the north, the Cerrado savanna to the east and the Pantanal wetlands to the South.

The Pantanal is a waste topical wetland located primarily in Brazil with a rich biodiversity, home of some 3500 plant species, 650 birds and numerous mammals, reptiles, and amphibians

The photos are taken at a huge natural sinkhole famous for Macaws, Fazenda Barranco Alto an area inland with rivers and channels known for the giant anteater and the Pantanal close to Porto Jofre for sightings of the jaguars.

At an ecolodge in the middle of Transpantaneira are some the last Brazilin “ gauchos“ presenting their skills.
